Firefly Wood Ovens ("we", "us") builds custom masonry wood-fired ovens in Eastern Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it. It is written to meet our obligations under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
When you use our oven builder or contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, postal code, your intended build timeline, and the design selections you made. If you go on to book a build we also collect your property address, site details and photographs of your property taken during the build.
Why we collect it
We use this information to prepare your quote, arrange and carry out a site visit, plan and build your oven, and keep a record of the work. Site photographs are also used to document our own work.
Photographs of your build
We may use photographs and video of your completed oven in our marketing, including our website and YouTube channel. We will not identify you by name or show your address without your permission. If you would prefer we do not photograph your build at all, tell us before we start and we will not.
Marketing
We may occasionally email you about our work or send build updates. Every message identifies us and includes a way to unsubscribe. If you unsubscribe we will stop within 10 business days. You can also ask us to stop at any time by emailing info@fireflywoodovens.com.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
We use a small number of service providers to run our business, and your information passes through them for that purpose only:
- Base44, which hosts this website and stores our enquiry records
- Our email service provider, to send correspondence
Where a build requires a municipal building permit, we will provide the information the municipality requires.
We may also disclose information if we are required to by law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and quote records for 24 months.
We keep records of completed builds — including site details, materials, drawings and photographs — for the duration of the structural warranty period plus one year. We need these records to assess any warranty claim.
How we protect it
Records are stored in our booking system and access is restricted to authorised staff.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to marketing. Email info@fireflywoodovens.com or call 613-295-7398 and we will respond within 30 days. Where we are required to retain build records for warranty purposes, we will explain that when you ask.
